Executors of the EU Erasmus+ project (Jean Monnet module) «An interdisciplinary approach to waste management study: implementing the EU practices» (621029-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-MODULE) took part in the round table «Lithuania-Ukraine: integration of education, technology and business – common ground under conditions of uncertainty», which took place on October 20, 2023 at the Ternopil Ivan Puluj National Technical University.

Among the other issues discussed, a report by Sigitas Michulis was presented on the experience of Taurage District (Republic of Lithuania) in: the field of energy resources recovery and use of energy-saving technologies; compliance with the provisions of the regulatory framework of the European Union related to these issues; roles of local government, general public and business in safe waste management, transition to renewable energy sources; obtaining positive results for the environment and economic effect from the implementation of relevant measures.

Students, representatives of local government and local self-government, business structures together with Lithuanian colleagues actively discussed the possibilities of introducing «green» technologies and secondary processing of household waste in Ukraine, using the experience of the European Union, in particular, the city of Taurage.

We are very thankful to the partners from the Republic of Lithuania for their comprehensive and constant support of Ukraine!
