An interdisciplinary approach to waste management study: implementing the EU practices

Workshop for students «Task for enterprises – clean (low-waste) production»

On October 19, 2023 the executors of the EU Erasmus+ Project (Jean Monnet Module) «An interdisciplinary approach to waste management study: implementing the EU practices» (621029-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-MODULE) have organized a workshop for students «Task for enterprises – clean (low-waste) production».

The invited guests – representatives of the «Agricon» company which is an engineering production and construction group specializing in industrial construction, design, and equipment for agro-infrastructure, processing industry and logistics – presented the waste management practice at this enterprise, explained the metal processing cycle, necessity of waste processing and its economic and ecological benefits. The attention was concentrated on metal waste in the production process, the recycling of defective aluminum profiles into non-recyclable structures, aluminum waste accounting. The issues raised have provoked a discussion in which students took an active part with generating ideas on improving the waste management at the enterprise.

We are grateful to the representatives of the «Agricon» company for sharing their experience in waste management at the enterprise and challenging students with tasks on how to optimize the process!
